Disappointing all around. Couldn't get a hot cup of tea (good grief, get an electric kettle!!); squash vine soup that sounded interesting enough but tasted like and had the consistency of water with masa balls in it. A tepid chile relleno. On the positive side, the mesquite avocado and olive oil was memorable. A beautiful restaurant with an interesting idea, but inexplicably bad food and wildly overpriced.
This place surprised me, and ended up being the best restaurant meal I had in Marfa (better than LaVenture, even). The service was very friendly and food was delicious. I would go back to Marfa to have the duck again. If you're drinking, make sure to get their tequila based Old Fashioned.
The decor was cute/hip, but the atmosphere was terrible the second you walked in the door. We had several servers walk past us without acknowledging our existence, after about 10 minutes a waitress walked up and asked "Do y'all need something?" as if we were not in a restaurant. Every person I came into contact with was beyond pretentious. This is a great place if you're a non conforming conformist searching for some instagram likes. We ended up leaving without eating because they closed the kitchen early, depending on the food quality I maybe would've given it 3 stars or 1.
Delicious and interesting food with a wide drink selection and a beautiful building. Service was very slow on a crowded evening. I would recommend sitting at the bar and watching your cocktails be made.
This was our first time in Marfa, it was 9:30pm and we wanted to check this place out for dinner. It says their kitchen closes at ten. Upon walking in there was a large group of pretentious hipsters blocking the entry. We watch a waitress take them to a table. We continue to stand there for another ten minutes while the hipsters stare and no server even looks at us. Finally a waitress comes up and asks "do y'all need anything?" I said "um is this a restaurant?" She explains yes however the kitchen is closed because they "started running out of food". I believe they made their money and felt like closing the kitchen early. This place sucks.
