From a person traveling in a camper van, it wasn't the best experience for $33 but I did stay there 2 nights for lack of better and equally inexpensive options in town. At first blush I was completely enamored of the place. I love the old trailers and teepees and safari tents and I liked seeing the design of their outdoor shower/toilet areas, which were clean and reliably had hot water. The location is great! You're within walking/biking distance of downtown and they give a helpful handout at check in that gets you clued into where to go. But if you're camping in a vehicle you camp in the dirt parking lot. There's quite a bit of broken glass out there so pick where you park carefully, especially if you've got a dog. They have a cute common area where I wanted to hang out and try to get some work down. But I couldn't get a reliable wifi connection the 2 days I was there. As I spent more time on the grounds I was increasingly turned off by the amount of litter and dog poop on the grounds and it's quite the hipster scene. If I stayed again, I'd pony up and rent one of the trailers. Probably would be a better experience.
We really loved our overnight stay in one of the large trailers! Overall we felt pampered, and that the trailer was well worth the extra cost. I do wish the front desk staff was a bit more welcoming and generally more friendly. Otherwise it was a great stay
But they did have ice cold Topo Chico in glass bottles.
Well - this isn't for everyone. Never knew what Peach Fuzz magazine was until I saw it laying out on a table for purchase in the store. "Hippie-free love-eclectic with lots of cash" was the vibe I got.
Very comfortable, super cool and loved how at night you can see the stars so clearly. It's like camping only better.
This place was so cute! I loved everything about it and it has such a vintage feel to it. The complimentary soaps are organic. There is an outdoor and indoor shower. The atmosphere is great, nice employees. My only complaint was that we were having plumbing issues with the toilet. The brand Store owns are amazing... but a bit expensive (understandably considering Marfa is very hipster now). Great experience overall!
