Minimalist hotel with a clean esthetic. Great place if you like to keep it simple.
This concept is reinforced with the rock garden in the courtyard. The planes of the courtyard are broken by small copses of arranged desert plants. One of those plants gives off an amazing scent. Need to research what it was.
My wife and I visited on the weekend. It was a perfect experience. I'm thinking of how to describe the room. Comfortable minimalist nature aesthetics is what the designer was looking to achieve; think: Zen. They succeeded.
We had a nice stay there, coffee at the office every morning and the staff was great and very accommodating.
Room was artsy and cozy but small and overpriced. A room with a queen and a built in twin was over $200 after tax. We saw a mouse and 3 *big* roaches in the room. You're paying for atmosphere, and that's about it.
Didn't check out the pool, but when we dropped off things during the midday from the morning excursion, we saw plenty of people there.
Completely over priced for what you get.
Now we know the hotel is pet friendly. Possibly will take the little ones with us the next time we visit.
Be aware if you arrive after 5:00 the office is across the street in that building that looks abandoned. Also know that no one will ever return your voicemails. If we had not run into another guest we wouldn’t have known where to get our room keys. I get that the hotel is going for minimalist aesthetic, but would a coffee pot in the room detract? My husband and I aren’t young and hip so getting up from the real really low bed was difficult. The bed we use while tent camping is way more comfortable. You get one chair in your room, And one chair in front of your room on the walkway. The shower head is fabulous and I did appreciate the softened water. The lavender products were excellent as were the towels. The grounds are well done and the pool looked inviting.
The staff is friendly and professional. I'm peeved by less than average service at hotels and the like, but they were great.
